What is SuperHomes? What is the SuperHomes Community?
Bedfordshire
The UK Government has set out an ambition to achieve zero carbon emissions by 2050. 17% of our current emissions come from the UK’s 29m existing homes. SuperHomes has been set up to help achieve net zero by facilitating the delivery of home retrofit. The retrofit community will need to pull together to make hitting this target a reality – as many as one million homes will need to undergo retrofit transformations every year. That’s where we come in…
You may wonder, what is retrofit? Essentially, it is renovation with the intention of improving the energy efficiency of your home. Some examples of this would be to install double glazing, better insulation measures, or heat pumps, to name a few.
The SuperHomes Community is free to everyone and includes benefits such as access to our monthly newsletter, online Facebook group and bi-annual webinar events – these range from hearing from fellow residents about their retrofit journey, to guest speakers discussing the newest technology in the retrofit sphere.
By signing up to SuperHomes, you can also register your interest in having a Whole Home Retrofit Plan (WHRP) or Home Energy Retrofit Options (HERO) Plan completed for your property. Please see our ‘SuperHomes Plans’ page for more details on our services.
Finally, should you complete your retrofit journey, we also have the SuperHomes Rating Scheme (SRS) to monitor homes who are aiming for best practice. Please see our SuperHomes Rating Scheme page for more details if this sounds relevant to you.
The SuperHomes Rating Scheme provides a framework for the performance of all refurbished homes no matter the type.
Our ‘SuperHomes Rating Scheme’ (SRS) is an assessment encouraging the take up of whole house retrofit. It can be applied to all UK homes and accommodates all approaches to retrofit.
The SuperHomes Rating Scheme has been designed by our team to help you meet your retrofit aspirations and offers a way to understand the true performance of the work you have completed on your home through retrofit.
The SuperHomes Rating Scheme provides a benchmark of home retrofit accomplishment with a top rating representing the pinnacle of performance producing zero emissions and optimum comfort conditions.
