A York home becomes the 100th SuperHome by cutting its carbon emissions by two-thirds

The SuperHomes network is celebrating the opening of its 100th SuperHome: at Temple Avenue in York, an affordable rented property belonging to the Joseph Rowntree Housing Trust (JRHT).  Inside and outside, the SuperHome, looks like a typical 1930s semi-detached house, but it has undergone an energy retrofit that makes it a showcase for the future.  The refurbished home will be open to the public by appointment over the next three years so that people can see how low-energy living can be achieved using today’s building materials and technology.  To read more please click here

Low Carbon Courses & a tour of a SuperHome

From Autumn this year Action Surrey will be giving you a unique opportunity to develop new skills through a range of Low Carbon Courses which will be held at our eco-demonstration property. Oak Tree House has been transformed from an ordinary 3 bedroom house to a showcase property for low carbon living with a wide range of energy efficiency measures and renewable technology.

Participants are sure to enjoy an action packed one day course with all courses being be hosted by leading industry experts. Plus! they will have the opportunity to look around the property to discover other ways which they can reduce their carbon consumption and fuel bills.
