Don’t miss the opportunity to visit an inspiring energy efficient SuperHome during the Spring Opening special event commencing this Sunday 27 March!
50 SuperHomes will open to showcase what can be done to save energy via a raft of energy saving measures. The home owners’ retrofit journeys are truly inspirational.

Some owners require visitors to register.
The first deadline for registering to visit some SuperHomes which are open on Sunday 27th March and Monday 28th March, is 12 noon on Friday 25th March. To find a SuperHome open near you during the Spring Openings see the Locator Map and the Events Calendar to see where and when the homes in your area are opening.

That is 14 million homes which could benefit from insulation measures and save money on their fuel bills, once the Government finalises its plans in 2012. Well done to the 37 SuperHomers who have indicated that they’ll be opening in September; 23 for Heritage Open Days – during 9th to 12th September,6 for Open House London during the weekend 18-19th September, and 8 further openings in September including 2 for Wales Open Doors, 1 on 14th Sept for the British Science Festival in Birmingham and also The Greenhouse in Norwich from 21 to 25 Sept. The Old Home SuperHome project is proud to announce the opening of its 50 SuperHome! Tony and Patricia Almond have achieved a reduction of 66% of their domestic carbon emissions in their Welwyn home. 19-20th June – Open Energy Saving House Weekend

If you live in the Lewes or Brighton area, then put this weekend in your diaries. Do you want to save money, help protect the environment, reduce your carbon footprint or protect yourself against future fuel shortages? Visit houses in and around Lewes to find out what others are doing and what you can do to make your house more energy efficient and cheaper to run as well as reducing your impact on the environment. Come and meet the people who have first hand experience of the various techniques, the costs, the benefits and the difficulties.

Announcing a new SuperHomes event for 2010!

SuperHomes Spring Openings will take place for the very first time on Sunday 28 March 2010.  This is definitely a date for your diaries.  SuperHomes will be opening their doors to the public across the UK to demonstrate how they have each achieved 60% carbon savings or more.  Thirteen SuperHomes are already scheduled to be open on 28th March. Check the calendar or the upcoming events list to see if there is an open event near you!

Oxfordshire Eco-buildings Open Days Thurs 10th-Sun 13th September 2009

Twenty-four homes and buildings across Oxfordshire will invite the public to see, experience, and share the techniques and vision of eco-renovation.  Featured Oxford buildings include the stylish conversion of a former Jericho pub into four highly insulated houses with a large solar photovoltaic and solar hot water array; and the ‘Solar Electric Victorian Terrace’ in Howard Street,  who’s solar photovoltaic roof makes the house a net exporter of electricity.

Superhomes open for tours

Seven Superhomes around the country will be open during the weekend of 16th and 17th May.

Why not plan to visit one or more of them for a tour and to talk to the owners about how they cut CO2 emissions and reduced energy consumption, and get ideas to use in your own home.
