SuperHomes offshoot WHISCERS picks up Energy Institute award

The winners of the Energy Institute (EI) Awards were announced at a ceremony on 17 November.

Chairman of the Sustainable Energy Academy, John Doggart, commented “We’re delighted with this formal recognition of SuperHomes and the WHISCERS insulation system.  National targets for carbon reduction won’t be met without insulating walls in older homes.  The WHISCERS system offers speed, convenience and a cost advantage formerly not available to householders and social landlords.  It also means residents can continue living in their homes whilst internal wall insulation is fitted.”

The annual Energy Institute (EI) Awards celebrate energy professionals who have raised the benchmarks of competence and dedication to their work.  Eight categories of awards are open for nominations: Communication, Community Initiative, Energy Excellence, Environment, Innovation, Individual Achievement, Safety and Technology.

At this year’s ceremony the winners were announced and presented with their prizes by Professor Brian Cox OBE.

full list of winners is available on Energy Institute website.

This is the second award for innovation that SuperHomes and the WHISCERS partnership has won this Autumn. The partnership also picked up an award at the Sustainable Housing Awards 2011.
