Bookings open for SuperHomes Week 16-24 March

Bookings are now open for SuperHomes Week 16 – 24 March 2013. With around 50 SuperHomes set to open across the UK, this is a chance to see eco renovation at its impressive best. Joining a guided tour will give you actionable ideas for greening your home. Admission is free! But places are often offered on a first come, first served basis, so advance booking is recommended.

SuperHomes – expect a warm welcome. Tony and Stella Richardson of Wisbech have cut carbon emissions from their 1950s bungalow by 77%.

There are eleven exciting new additions to the SuperHomes network opening for the first time in March.

Georgian, Victorian, Edwardian and post-war houses are amongst the renovated homes opening to the public. Most have superior insulation; many have alternative heating sources and some produce their own energy.

Whichever properties you visit you are sure to receive a warm welcome. SuperHomes are older homes refurbished by their owners for greater comfort, lower bills and far fewer carbon emissions – at least 60% less. These are real homes where real people will talk to you about the benefits and the challenges involved.

In March we also welcome a number of openers with Green Homes or works in progress. This is thanks to Green Deal Pioneer Places funding from the Department of Energy and Climate Change and is part of national efforts to make more green homes accessible to the public.
